the plan
Day 1 | Meet the van and your group at Yorkdale TTC station for pick up at 7:30am. The adventure begins!
Make a stop in Parry Sound (home to 30,000 islands on Georgian Bay) around 10am for brunch.
Arrive at Killarney Provincial Park around 1pm to hike The Crack. This is widely considered one of Ontario's best hikes! We'll start by hiking through some of the oldest rockscapes in the world, Boreal forest, past lakes and a scramble up a rock face to the top for a rewarding view across a landscape of white quartzite ridges, deep blue lakes, and endless northern wilderness.
The Crack AllTrails stats: 8km | 268m elevation gain | out and back | hard | 4.8/5 stars

After hiking, we'll drive to Chutes Provincial Park where we'll set up camp for the night and have a campfire meal (around 7:30pm). After dinner, enjoy getting to know your new travel friends around the fire and taking in the dark, star-filled sky.

Day 2 | Breakfast at 7:30am, take down camp and depart around 9am towards Sault Ste Marie where we'll stop for food and to restock our supplies. Around 1pm, we'll drive to Agawa Rocks Pictograph (option to grab food at Lake of Two Rivers Grill) before we visit the pictograph in the afternoon. This is a 0.5 mile (0.8km) loop trail that leads to the Agawa Rock Pictographs, one of the largest collections of Aboriginal pictographs in Ontario. We'll stop for a swim in Katherine's Cove before heading to Neys provincial park where we'll set up camp for the night.
Day 3 | After breakfast, we'll head to Aguasabon Falls for a quick stop before heading to hike the Kama Cliffs Viewpoint trail (All Trails stats: 6km | 179m elevation gain | moderate | loop).
Quick food stop in Red Rock, then a quick stop in Ouimet Canyon (150m wide gorge and sheer cliffs that drop 100m straight down. In the evening, we'll arrive at Sleeping Giant provincial park and set up camp for the night.

Day 4 | Today is the day we've all been waiting for: the Sleeping Giant hike.
AllTrails stats: 23km | 582m elevation gain | out and back | hard | 4.8/5 stars
The Sleeping Giant trail feels like a journey across an entire landscape. The path leads through fragrant pine forest, across rocky ridgelines, and out toward the dramatic cliffs that form the Giant’s silhouette on the horizon. As you approach the end of the peninsula, Lake Superior begins to appear in flashes through the trees before finally revealing itself in full. At the famous lookout, sheer cliffs drop to the lake far below, with nothing but open water stretching to the horizon.
Get back to camp around 6pm for dinner and a campfire.

Day 5 | We're heading to Kakabeka Falls, a waterfall on the Kaministiquia River, located beside the village of Kakabeka Falls in the municipality of Oliver Paipoonge, Ontario, 30 km west of the city of Thunder Bay. After a quick stop here, we'll have free time in Thunder Bay for lunch then stop at the Terry Fox memorial on the way to the Amethyst Mine Panorama where we'll do a tour and dig for amethyst!
Quick stop at the Thunder Bay lookout and then back to camp for the evening!

Day 6 | Enjoy a morning of views on the road before we arrive at Magpie Falls (Wawa) in the afternoon. This waterfall stands at 75 feet (22.8m) and 124 ft (38 m) wide and its magnificence will blow you away. Then we'll visit Old Woman's bay, have some food at the beach before arriving at Pancake Bay Provincial Park, our home for the night.

Day 7 | We're heading back to the city (with food and rest stops along the way). Sit back, relax and enjoy a road trip sharing pictures and memories with your new friends.

Origin Travels never dissapoints! I had the most incredible travel experience on a recent three-day camping trip in Algonquin. From the moment I reached out to Sandra, I felt like she understood what I wanted to get out of this trip. She was an absolute gem throughout the journey and she went above and beyond to ensure that we were always well-informed and up to date with every piece of information we could possibly need.
She managed to find us one of the best guides in the area for our trip, and this helped a lot especially considering that I hadn't done camping for a few years and it was a bit out of my comfort zone. Thank you so much Sandra for this amazing experience!!

Just got back from "The Wilderness Trip" in Northern Ontario and I feel refreshed, relaxed, well fed, and slightly sun kissed. OT organized an awesome trip with a balance of fun, play, and just the right amount of organized activities to give us time to do whatever we wanted. The food was great , but my favourite was the SUP Yoga! If this is just a weekend adventure in Ontario, then I *know* an international tour is well worth the investment. Can't wait to book again!

I went on a Wilderness weekend with Origin Travels to Six Mile Lake this past August and had the most wonderfully refreshing trip away. Travelling with OT felt more like travelling with a new group of friends than it did a tour group of strangers. Everything was so thought through, whether it was hammocks to lounge in by the water’s edge or marshmallows to toast over the fire. I’ll definitely be booking another trip in the future! 🌲🌊 Thanks for everything!
